No Nazi’s in the Soup Kitchen

By hattiesburgfungi

Howdy y’all,

Its been a really busy week here. We have finally gone ahead with our plans on building an approved kitchen so we can begin moving forward with some of our other dreams. Its been really neat how it has all been coming together too.

We ran our ideal of including a line of gourmet soups with our mushrooms past Jan and Ann, the market directors at the farmers market, and boy, it was like God just really flung the door wide open. Ann and Jan thought it was a great ideal and gave us a real big thumbs up. They also wanted to know when we would be back with our amazing peanut brittle.

So, here we are, week 2 of building the FDA approved kitchen. Honestly, between keeping the mushrooms popping, the quail laying, and the garden up and running, it has been like i have been working 3 jobs lately. We had to fir out the walls before we could put up the FRP panels. FRP panels are the really nice stuff that you can clean real easy. You have seen them if you have ever worked in a commercial kitchen or been to a decent bathroom at the 7-11. My dad has been helping and he has been a real pleasure to work with. We dont always see eye to eye but I have valued his help and suggestions immensely.

I dont know why he gets to do all the fun stuff like shooting the nails into the brick with a ram set (a thing that shoots nails into hard materials using bullets) and making cool designs on the back of the FRP with the glue. After all, I got an “A” in finger painting, shouldn’t I be doing this?

It should take us another couple of Days to get all the FRP up. Ill make sure to keep you posted and up to date on our progress.

All you market goers, get ready for some really tasty additions to our menu on Saturdays. They will be coming at you real soon. See you there.
